Welcome to
LakeErieWX. I hope that you find this resource to be both helpful and
educational. This site was originally created to document my pursuit of
Penn State University's
Certificate of Achievement in Weather Forecasting. This program is
comprised of four courses designed to teach basic
synoptic, tropical and mesoscale meteorology and the skills required to
forecast the weather.
The site has several sections:
Links: Hyperlinks to my news page, photography page and my biography.
Forecasting Resources: Hyperlinks to additional web pages designed to provide you with
the ability to assess current weather conditions and predict future
weather patterns, particularly for the Great Lakes region.
Research & Case Studies: This section offers research papers and case studies devoted to famous hurricanes,
severe weather events, regatta summaries and other interesting observations.
Education: This section describes my Great Lakes Basic Marine Weather Seminar designed to teach basic weather forecasting skills to boaters. Learn a little meteorology and reduce
some of the uncertainty of boating on the Great Lakes. Click here for a seminar brochure.
Noteworthy Sites: A collection of interesting websites.
I welcome
your suggestions on how to improve this site. Just drop me a note at lakeeriewx@wowway.com
