• I taught a one-day Great Lakes Basic Marine Weather Seminar at the Chicago Yacht Club on March 31, 2012.
• I taught a one-day Great Lakes Basic Marine Weather Seminar at Bay City Yacht Club, Bay City, MI on March 2, 2012.
• I delivered a presentation titled Tragedy Strikes the 2011 Chicago-Mac at the 20th Annual Great Lakes Operational Meteorology Conference on March 15, 2012. The presentation received the Brian Murphy Award for the most noteworthy presentation.
February 2012
• I taught a one-day Great Lakes Basic Marine Weather Seminar at Lorain Sailing and Yacht Club on February 4, 2012.
• I delivered a presentation titled Tragedy Strikes the 2011 Chicago-Mac to the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the American Meteorological Society on February 7, 2012.
• Taught a one-day Great Lakes Basic Marine Weather Seminar at Edgewater Yacht Club on February 25, 2012.

• My 2011 Chicago-Mackinac Race: A Meteorological Summary was referenced in US Sailing's Inquiry Into The Chicago Yacht Club-Race to Mackinac Capsize and Fatalities published in October 2011.
• Delivered a basic weather forecasting presentation to the students enrolled in the Coast Guard Auxiliary's About Boating Safely class.
August 2011
• Published "An Interesting Local Wind", a short article about a small-scale wind encountered on Lake Erie. (click here)
• Published "2011 Chicago-Mackinac Race: A Meteorological Summary". A storm system caused two fatalities during the 2011 Chicago Mackinac Race. (click here)

• Published "Forces Governing the Wind", a short article explaining the atmospheric dynamics responsible for the wind. (click here)
• Delivered a basic weather forecasting presentation to junior sailors at the Lorain Sailing and Yacht Club.
• Residents of northern Ohio endured a very wet spring. The record-setting rainfall was produced by very favorable large-scale patterns. The article can be accessed here.
